Microsoft PR in Windows 7 launching in China

Windows 7 came into light globally. I did one piece of news for VOA Online 126 about the launching of windows 7 tonight. Accidentally, I also watched the Chinese entertainment show "Day Day Up", in which hosts of the show came to USA and visited Microsoft headquarter in Seattle. I was bewildered at why this show, aiming at entertaining people, would end up connected with Microsoft. I slightly sensed that this had something to do with the launching of windows 7. Yes, I'm right.

This issue of "Day Day Up" should be considered as the promotion window for Windows 7. It not only interacted with MS employees in Seattle, but also had those in MS China in their live show, weaving the introduction and demonstration of new functions of W 7 during the show. Even the vice president of MS China appeared in the show at the end, revealing how serious MS was towards showing up in the show. I'm excited to see how public relations and the media is connected. It was not through the rampantly informed new media like facebook, twitter etc, but still through traditional media, however, through a different channel. This is something worth learning by other global brands. Of course, there definitely should mix the advertising in something light and entertaining. After all, this is an entertainment show. Nice try, MS China! Good move, "Day Day Up."
